The Groove Box in action at Kerrville '95
Front: Phil Antoniades on the Groove Box
Rear: Lower 3/4 of Tom Prasada-Rao
Inspired two years ago by Phil's need to pick up cash playing on the streets of Nantucket, the groove box has found it's way onto many shows across the country. Performances of note include the Somerville Theatre in Boston, The Hard Rock Cafe in Washington DC, The Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, Texas (including an upcoming live compilation recording and a national public television show), Local Boston News shows and many other high exposure events!
Many artists have requested the groove box while recording demos and new albums. Barbara Kessler's Notion on Eastern Front Records features the first nationally distributed recording of the groove box. (Check out the percussion tracks on cut's 3 and 4, also the backgrounds on 6,9,19 & 11.)
It sounds good. It's sounds very different. We guess the engineers at Rolling Rock know how to make a case of beer.
