Note that instead of playing the 9th fret D string you could play the C#
note on the open B string.  I prefer the 9th fret on the D string because
it lets you hold the bass note while the last 3 notes in the measure ring out.

The bass pedals on D for the last half of the chorus.  It sounds like Phil
plays chords on the upper three strings while the bass covers the anchor D.
 It's possible in a few of the chords to hold the D note, but good luck on
the A/D!

For the lick at the end of the chorus, I find it easiest to finger the 1st
fret B string while playing the trill on the high D string.
